Murrayville is a village located in Morgan County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 644.


Murrayville is located at 39°34'59" North, 90°15'4" West (39.583136, -90.251039).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.3 km2 (0.5 mi2). 1.3 km2 (0.5 mi2) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.


As of the census of 2000, there were 644 people, 243 households, and 182 families residing in the village. The population density was 497.3/km2 (1,292.4/mi2). There were 250 housing units at an average density of 193.1/km2 (501.7/mi2). The racial makeup of the village was 99.38% White, and 0.62% from two or more races.

There were 243 households out of which 35.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.8% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.1% were non-families. 22.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.08.

In the village the population was spread out with 26.7% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 94.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $42,917, and the median income for a family was $50,476. Males had a median income of $31,563 versus $23,594 for females. The per capita income for the village was $15,353. 11.2% of the population and 5.7% of families were below the poverty line. 13.7% of those under the age of 18 and 15.0% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
